Munakata Japanese Restaurant

Its Japanese cuisine again~~~ Coz recently we are so into SALMON!!! Munakata is a Japanese restaurant where u can had A la Carte in the noon and buffet dinner at night. It’s located at Life Center, Jalan Sultan Ismail. The building is currently under renovation but they are still the one who open as usual.

The decorations for this restaurant is according to Japanese concept where the waitress is wearing Kimono and serving us. Since its Tuesday night, only Kampung hunter and Fishy gal. He even said its because he booked the whole restaurant and had dinner for me. So the kimono girl serve us and let us go through the menu first. So, since Kampung hunter is coming down to KL, i’ve been thinking to bring him for a Japanese buffet dinner where there are delicious and fresh salmon for both of us. I knew it from my friend and tried it out.

The food in the menu is limited, but then the quality of the food is really good. Usually buffet style let us pick up food that we wanted, but this restaurant served it differently. They cook only whenever you place the order. So, the food is freshly cook just for you! Since we are hungry so we order quite a few plate for our 1st round. I guess picture can let all of you know how delicious the food is.

Chawanmushi >> Its really hot when we took a sip of it. You can get mushroom and crabstick inside. The custard egg when eat together with other ingredients is so nice. I like the chawanmushi here. Kampung hunter likes to have it with some sweet soy sauce. It gives u a different taste. Try it...

Salad with seafood>> This salad as starter for me is really refreshing. Usually Kampung hunter won’t eat salad because of the vege but he likes it too. There is some shredded shrimp and crabstick mix with mayo on top of the vege. The taste of mayo is so strong and yet you could still taste the toppings

Enoki Mushroom wrap with beef >> I love Enoki!!! Its hot when i tried it. Te beef is juicy and taste good. The chef at Munakata could really cook all of the dishes well. Although the portion is small, but no worry coz it’s a buffet. Order a few more if u like it J

Unagi with Soy sauce and Salmon sashimi >> This is really a temptation. When i wrote this blog I could still feel the incredible taste of unagi and salmon. The unagi was just nice. As u know unagi = eel so some may love or jus hate it due to the taste. As for the Salmon sashimi 3pcs per plate, its cold + firm fresh + oily but not fatty + tender and it melts when u eat it. They reli serve delicious Salmon. And its so worthy for the price i paid. Me and Kampung hunter had 5 plates of Salmon sashimi.

Fried Hotate >> Hotate means scallop. This dish was not bad too. Although is fried, but the taste of scallop is still there and its sweet. This could be compared with the fresh scallop since the sweetness of scallop still remain. It’s a delicacy for everyone of us.

Miso soup and rice >> Kampung hunter just order this because he worried that he will be hungry. Well is normal Kampung boy ma so need rice also. The miso soup is  traditional Japanese soup. The flavor of the soup paste is strong but its not too salty. You always get this in any restaurant.

Fried tofu and Yakinasu No Nikumiso Kaka >> The tofu with a little oyster on top add some flavor. The tofu inside is so soft. Jus like normal fried tofu. While the eggplant or brinjal (Nasubi) with some mince meat on top. It taste nice because I think they make it with oyster sauce and fry it. It’s almost same like a Chinese dish.

Soft shell crab and Salmon sushi >> Seriously you can really taste the crab meat at here. Usually the soft shell crab we had is hardly taste full of meat. But this is great! The meat is so sweet and soft. For the salmon sushi, the salmon is slice nicely jus like the sashimi. Freshly cut. Just add some wasabi and soy sauce and its gave you a heaven taste~~~

Vanilla ice cream >> For dessert they only have fresh fruits and ice cream. So of course we get ice cream. There is another flavor which is green tea with red bean as topping. The green tea ice cream taste so so so strong. Sometimes the strong flavor will make it become bitter but this one is just nice especially with redbean. But too bad, its too too tasty till I forget to snap pictures. Sorry guys... Anyway i order Vanilla flavor too and its still taste milky. In the end, both of us is too full to try any other things.

For both of us, Munakata unlimited Japanese buffet is great. For just the Salmon sashimi and Cod Fish ( forget to took pic ) they served, the price we paid is worth more than that. And what’s important was the quality of the food. Fresh and keeping the original taste of the food makes us have a great dinner. So for those Japanese food lover, do visit this restaurant. You’ll surely have a great experience about the food they serve. You may call the restaurant and make a booking in case its full on the weekend.

Moo Cow Frozen Yogurt

Since we were at Midvalley, wondering around is a compulsory things. Because its big enough to spend all the time for movie date. We went till The Gardens and found out this [ Moo Cow Frozen Yogurt ]. As you look around, you’ll realize the design concept at this place is based on farm. With cow and some farm animal pictures around. You can even get a cow to post with you and of course is a fake cow. And yet I still love cow. Only the white based and black patches cow is my favorites.

So we tried this yogurt. And looking through the flavor it provides, this is simply Malaysia’s product! So shout ‘Malaysia Boleh!!!” guys. From the flavours you can really have a Malaysia market.
Since on this promotion price we took the Pink Guava flavor with Peach topping ( RM10.90). Kampung hunter almost finished it up while i’m snapping pic around. Luckily I stopped him. Last but not least the yogurt is a worth to try and is healthy too.

As usual the peach fruits should be sweet and yet the yogurt is just milky enough and not really sweet. Having both this as combination is quite nice.

***When u spend RM 10 on every purchase for 15 times they’ll give you to exchange for some free gift. I guess is the cow t shirt and mug or etc tat have anything to do with Moo Cow~~ Moo~~~

Pasta Zanmai Midvalley

Pasta Zanmai Midvalley - our 2nd visit after we tried their set of food last time. We are really satisfied with the meal we had last time and of course walk out in a very full tummy on my birthday celebration. This Japanese restaurant is trying to mix Western + Japanese cooking together as their concept. Just by looking through the menu gave you a finger licking good feeling...

So, for this time we went there again to fulfilled our ‘tasty food’ appetite at KL. As we arrived there are no customer around since is a weekday afternoon. But then, the service is not that good this time coz the waiter and waitress is chatting around. We have to call them a few times to order.
We decided to order something different from what we had last time, although we hunger for it. This time the set we order consist of Clam noodle and Teriyaki chicken with Onsen AND Unagi rice set. In addition to that, Kampung hunter also ask me to order 2 Soft shell crab tortilla with spicy mayo. For the drinks, we just order a pot of hot green tea as the calories consumption for the food is already high!!!

Clam noodle > The noodle taste cheese and some onion as well. Soft and smooth. Clam was fresh and just nice. The soup for this is a bit salty for us. But then its still worth a try.

Teriyaki chicken with Onsen > The rice is Japanese style a bit sticky and yet cook well. It taste nice when eat together with the egg. For the chicken, its tender and juicy with the touch of teriyaki sauce.

<< Unagi rice set
This set comes with salad, miso soup
and rice too. I loved the salad sauce
and I think they had some peanut with
the thousand island sauce that they made it.
The main temptation here is the unagi.
I took the first bite and its so so tender
and fishy. It’s a fish so the fresh fishy
taste is still there. Recommended for unagi lovers!

Soft shell crab tortilla with spicy mayo >>
You can choose the wrapping (seaweed or tortilla ) and the sauce. The tortilla when wrap with the fillings its like we ate Peking Duck. At first mayo and spicy is not acceptable but then when we put it together with the tortilla its Oishiiiiii~~~~I finished up the mayo in the end and Kampung hunter look amazed at me. ^_^

The experience once again at Pasta Zanmai was great. Cozy environment, tasty food and the price is just average. For all these we end the bill with RM 64.80. And of course a great companion does add a little more enjoyment for the meal.
